Saints QB Adrian McPherson was fielding punts with the rest of the return men on Saturday and did not seem to be out of his element. He tracked the ball well and didn’t try to force anything. It will be interesting to see if he continues this practice throughout camp. I like that the staff is trying to find ways to implement McPherson and his skills into the gameplan, but wonder if this is an indication that the coaches don’t have much confidence in him as a legit QB. – Chris

Let there be no doubt, Liuzza, the coaching staff has absolutely no confidence in McPherson’s QB ability. He’s a good athlete, and should be able to make a quick impact on special teams. But, as far as QB goes, from what I’ve heard during the offseason and from some of his teammates, he doesn’t have the discipline to become a top-notch QB, much less gain a starting position.
I see him as trade fodder either before things get finalized in Jackson or at the end of the season when things get “circulated.”
Nice blog! When’s your show hitting the airwaves?

With the talent he has, there is no doubt he can play in the NFL. The question is at what position. Does he have what it takes to become a number 3 WR?

Yes, that’s what the Saints need … another WR!?
Isn’t StallPepper (Ode to Buddy D) on the bubble of being trade bait if he doesn’t perform to his potential. I mean, the guy is a MAN when it comes to speed and strength, but when it comes to clutch performances, he’s a bit, shall we say, unimpressive.
I love the guy, but, I like wins more!
Ideally, let’s see McPherson and StallPepper pick up POW honors early.
